Art All-State at the Worcester Art Museum is an activity packed, two day art experience for juniors in high school. Cori Champagne and I were partnered up to mentor the students and build an indoor installation piece. We toured the museum, and talked about influences and inspiration for our project then headed back to the studio and got to work. It was a good bunch of art kids, and a fun event.
Being able to spend time in the newly installed “The Strange Life of Objects: The Art of Annette Lemieux” was a pleasure. Her often dark humor and wit come through the work, and those were the pieces I spent the most time with. I recommend a stop at this museum to check out this show, the impressive permanent collections and the contemporary work that was just brought out of 15 years of storage.
